In Community Care for Orphans

Aims and Targets

The orphans who are in the most desperate need are the primary targets for support from I-CCO. They are helped with their basic needs where they are being kept by their guardians so as not to rob them of the home and community atmosphere.
The long-term target is to assist 15,000 orphans countrywide. We are aiming to help 10,000 in Lusaka alone, 1000 in each district identified as a compound. Lusaka has been divided into 10 zones and I-CCO has registered and targeted 1000 needy orphans in each area. The zones are as follows:

1. Chawama
2. Bauleni
3. Mtendere
4. Chainda
5. Kaunda Square
6. Ng'ombe
7. Mandevu
8. Matero
9. Kanyama
10. Misisi

An Evangelist is also attached to 1 area, which comprises 5 zones. This provides opportunities for I-CCO to help meet the spiritual needs of the children as well as their physical needs and to share the good news of Jesus Christ with them and their families. This is also done so that our orphans grow up in the fear and instruction of the Lord, as Ephesians Ch.6 v4 says.
